Since taking early retirement in March 2014, I have lived in Davao city, Philippines.  I travel back to Australia on occasions to see my daughters and the the rest of my family.  Life in Mindanao is relaxed and the weather is very nice, humid but nice.  I would rather live in temperate zones than the wildly changing climate of Victoria in Australia.

 Paradise Island resort on Samal Island is a favorite of my Filipino wife and I and we go there often for a swim.  The southern Mindanao area is largely free of typhoons, unlike the Visayas and Luzon area which get them frequently.  Anyone who is thinking of visiting or retiring here, I would certainly recommend Davao city as a place to be.

The saying goes "Davao, Life is here!"
